ELCCO is a volunteer council, whose members work on behalf of families in the Oceanside community to champion their access to affordable, accessible, quality childcare, and advocate for the development of a provincially-funded universal childcare system.

Vision

That children and their families in the Oceanside area have access to quality, affordable, accessible childcare.

Mission

  • To serve the Oceanside community in support of the BC Provincial $10 a Day publicly funded universal childcare system
  • To support collaboration and consultation among all Oceanside community partners, and increase the impact of our combined efforts to build local, publicly funded childcare infrastructure

A message from Carol O’Connor,
ELCCO Chair

As an Early Childhood Educator, I am honored to support the vision of the BC Government and Ministry of Education and Child Care for a publicly funded, $10aDay childcare system.

As Chair of the Early Learning Childcare Council for Oceanside (ELCCO) it is my privilege to work alongside local government and childcare advocates to build a childcare friendly community that enriches the lives of our children and their families.

We would like to gratefully recognize and acknowledge that we live,
learn and work on the traditional unceded territory of the Qualicum
First Nations and Snaw’naw’as people.
