ELCCO has enjoyed the financial support of the Social Planning and Research Council of BC, for the past three years. They have committed funds to supporting community initiatives that address the recruitment and retention of Early Childcare Educators within the Oceanside community.
I want to extend my appreciation to the childcare community for their participation in the recent research project that attempts to understand the particular challenges and opportunities currently represented in the Oceanside community.

Recruitment and Retention Project
ELCCO received a $15,000 grant from SPARC BC for the Recruitment and Retention Project. This project will focus on developing a community collaborative model that addresses childcare recruitment and retention needs, as well as strategies to secure a pipeline of ECE professionals to meet the childcare sector needs in the Oceanside community.

The new website will support the collaborative work of ELCCO that informs and involves families and the childcare sector.
UBCM Childcare Facility Design
Members of ELCCO collaborated and provided feedback in the development of a Childcare Facility Design document.
Qualicum Beach Family Day
ELCCO has been actively participating in celebrating Qualicum Beach Family Day since 2016.
