Into the Woods Early Learning Childcare Studio
ELCCO supported the Town of Qualicum Beach in its application for the New Space Funding Grant to build this brand new, one-of-a-kind childcare studio
UBCM Motion
In April 2023, ELCCO made a presentation at the RDN Council Meeting in support of Leanne Salter Area F Director’s motion, which passed unanimously.
Mid Island Childcare Collaborative
ELCCO partnered with City of Nanaimo, Lantzville, City of Parksville and Town of Qualicum Beach, RDN Councilors and School District 68 & 69. This partnership resulted in a combined application for the UBCM Childcare Needs Assessment Grant of $125,000. With these funds, ELCCO supported the City of Nanaimo in hiring and overseeing the work of SPARC BC to research and report on childcare needs. The Childcare Needs Assessment has given each community within the Mid Island Collaborative a Child Care Action Plan that identifies childcare needs and recommendations to achieve targeted goals.
